The Union of Nigerian journalist in Ghana met with the new ambassador on a courtesy call to familiarize with the new ambassador and draw a road map with which the Association and the High Commission can work effectively with, in protecting the interest of Nigeria in Ghana. The Vice President of NUJ -Ghana Mr. Moses Owopade in his introductory speech informed the Ambassador of the readiness of the Union to assist the Nigeria High Commission in spreading information to Nigerians in Ghana and help in checking the menace of social media propaganda and negative reportage of issues that can damage relationship with the two nations. he also entreated for the high commission support in assisting the Union set up the Nigerian Media Center given to them by Ambassador Onafowokan before he retired and left Ghana in 2015.
Amb. Abikoye appreciated the visit of the NUJ-Ghana chapter members and assured them of his commitment towards collaborating the efforts of the NUJ-Ghana and the High Commission communication team towards projecting a better Image of the Nation to the public in Ghana .

He encourage them to put out accurate news and showcase the good image of Nigerian journalism since they are in different media platforms they are the new image makers of the Nigerian Nation in Ghana .
