The Maiden edition of MBAISE people in Ghana’s New yam festival is set to receive most dignitaries from around the world in which Prince Emeka Isaac Ejimonu from Nigeria is one of this distinguished guest but it seems he is likely to miss the event due to the conflict concerning the throne in Imo state in Nigeria.
Prince Ejimonu who recently escaped a near death situation when he was kidnapped seems not to be in the country anymore, born on 17th April 1972 to Mr. and Mrs. Ejimonu and married to Princess Rosita Chizoro who he has four kids with, the constant threats to the amiable prince his life which started the moment he indicated interest in the vacant throne of his hometown Itu Mbaise reached an alarming height when he was kidnapped on 25th April 2017 and was released after parting with the sum of 10 Million Naira.
Since the passing away of the last king of Itu in Ezinhitte Mbaise, Eze Luke Nnadede Dimgba who died on the 8th of November 2008 after a brief illness, now 9years after to enstool a new king for the community has been a serious challenge due to the conflict concerning the throne.
Prince Ejimonu who is expected as Chief guest of honour in Ghana for proposed Mbaise New yam Festival, has not been reached via any communication medium . His kinsmen seems unaware of his exact location but his immediate family members keeps assuring everyone that the prince is hale and hearty but on holiday though they didn’t disclose his exact location
The Mbaise people in Ghana are divided over going ahead with their Maiden New Yam Festival ,the New Yam Festival Celebration is a very important festival to Igbo people of Nigeria as Yam remains their most important agricultural produce, and a symbol of wealth, affluence and prosperity.
The continuous absence of Prince Ejimonu in important social events and community engagement which started since last year ,is disconcerting to his ardent followers and loyalists and his kinsmen in Ghana though worried are wishing him good where ever he is.
